The 1946 Bihar riots started as violent communal clashes between Hindus and Muslims.
The 1946 Bihar riots were a series of communal riots between Hindus and Muslims in Bihar, India, from 24 October to 11 November 1946.
While Hindu mobs were primarily responsible for initiating attacks on Muslim communities, there were also retaliatory incidents involving Muslims, making the violence mutual and widespread.
Resulted in the deaths of an estimated 5,000 to 10,000 people, mostly Muslims.
