Sundarlal Sharma

Sunderlal Sharma an Indian freedom fighter, social reformer, writer, pandit. He earned the title ‘Gandhi of Chhattisgarh’. He did revolutionary work in the field of untouchability.

For this work, he had to face the wrath of the Brahmin class, he had to suffer humiliation.

He was associated with the ‘National Peasant Movement’, ‘Alcohol Prohibition’, ‘Adivasi Movement’, ‘Swadeshi Movement’ and sacrificed his life for the sake of national freedom. Chhattisgarh has a university named after Pandit Sunderlal Sharma. A postal stamp was released in his honour.
