International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking

International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking is observed annually on 26 June.

It was established by the United Nations General Assembly in 1987 through Resolution 42/112.

The observance aims to strengthen global action and cooperation against drug abuse and illicit drug trafficking.

It promotes awareness of the harmful effects of drug abuse and supports prevention, treatment, rehabilitation, and international cooperation.

The day is coordinated by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).
