Ambareesh (Malavalli Huchchegowda Amarnath) an Indian film actor, politician.

Alongside Rajkumar and Vishnuvardhan, he is regarded as one of Kannada cinema’s celebrated triumvirate of leading actors.

He received the titles ‘Rebel Star’, ‘Mandyada Gandu’, ‘Kaliyuga Karna’, and ‘Ajatashatru’.

President of the Kannada Film Artistes Association.

Vice President of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC).

Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting.

Member of the Lok Sabha.

He married film actress Sumalatha.

He received numerous honors, including Karnataka State Film Awards, Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award – South, NTR National Award, Nandi Award, TV9 Lifetime Achievement Award, SIIMA Lifetime Achievement Award, Dr. Vishnuvardhan Award, and Padmabhushan Dr. B. Saroja Devi National Award.
