Babasaheb Ambedkar reached in Bombay after attending the First Round Table Conference in London.

On 13 February 1931, Ambedkar left Europe by ship from Marseilles and arrived in Bombay on 27 February 1931.

He told The Times of India that the Round Table Conference was a success but the proposed Constitution was undemocratic with limited voting rights.

He and other representatives fought for adult suffrage, warning that failing to give common people political power would betray them.

He stressed the importance of solving the minority problem and securing rights for the Depressed Classes.

He was left out of the Federal Structure Committee in the first session but included in the second, and even his critics praised his patriotism and commitment to democracy.
