Asima Chatterjee (Asima Mookerjee) an Indian organic chemist. First female scientist recipient of the Padma Bhushan award. Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Award recipient. She became the first female recipient of this award. Second woman to receive a Doctorate of Science from an Indian university. She developed anti-malarial and chemotherapy drugs that are widely used today, and is behind commonly used anti-epileptic drug, Ayush-56.
