Bhanu Athaiya (Bhanumati Annasaheb Rajopadhye) an Indian costume designer, painter.

Pioneer in the field of costume design in Indian cinema. First Indian to win an Academy Award (OSCAR). National Film Award recipient. Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award recipient. She was the only woman member of the Bombay Progressive Artists’ Group.
