He was a thunderbolt in India’s tribal resistance.

A revolutionary from the Munda community, he mobilized Adivasis against colonial policies and the alienation of tribal lands.

He became a symbol of Adivasi resistance and tribal identity in India.

Birsa Munda is the only tribal leader whose portrait is displayed in the Central Hall of the Indian Parliament.

His birth anniversary is observed as ‘Janjatiya Gaurav Divas’ (Tribal Pride Day).
