The BSF issued an order to the transfer of Bhagat Singh’s pistol from its Indore museum to Punjab.

On April 25, 2017, The Border Security Force issued an order to transfer Bhagat Singh’s pistol from the BSF museum in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, back to Punjab.

Bhagat Singh’s pistol, a US-made .32 Colt was last seen in Punjab at the Police Academy, Phillaur on October 7, 1969.

This historic weapon was used by Bhagat Singh to kill British Assistant Superintendent of Police John Saunders outside the Punjab Civil Secretariat in Lahore on December 17, 1928, in retaliation for the death of freedom fighter Lala Lajpat Rai.
