APSARA was the first Nuclear Research Reactor in India and also Asia.
Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru named this reactor ‘Apsara’.
On 20 January 1957, India’s nuclear reactor ‘Apsara’, the first nuclear reactor in Asia, was dedicated to the nation.
