CRPF Foundation Day (India)

CRPF Foundation Day or CRPF Raising Day is celebrated on July 27th each year in India.

It is to commemorate the establishment of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) on July 27 1939, when it was originally constituted as the Crown Representative’s Police (CRP) under British rule.

The day mark the formation of the force, which was later renamed the Central Reserve Police Force through the CRPF Act on December 28, 1949, after India’s independence.
