Digital Society Day is celebrated anually october 17th in india.

October 17 holds special significance as it was on this day in 2000 that the Information Technology Act, 2000—the first law of India’s digital era—was notified.

This Act gave legal recognition to electronic documents for the first time in the country and introduced a legally recognized method of authentication through digital signatures.

Additionally, the Information Technology Act, 2000 recognized cybercrimes and established a fast-track grievance redressal mechanism to address them.
