The Government of India established the Dr. Ambedkar Foundation.

On 24 March 1992, the Dr. Ambedkar Foundation was established in New Delhi under the aegis of the Ministry of Welfare (now the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment).

It was registered as a society under the Societies Registration Act, 1860.

It was established to preserve and promote the ideas and legacy of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar.

It spreads awareness of his philosophy of social justice, equality, and constitutional rights.

It educates the public through publications, seminars, and programs.

It honors his contribution as the principal architect of the Indian Constitution.
