E C G Sudarshan

E. C. G. Sudarshan (Ennackal Chandy George Sudarshan) an Indian-American theoretical physicist and professor.

First recipient of the TWAS Prize in Physics, awarded by The World Academy of Sciences.

Recipient of several honors including the ICTP Dirac Medal, Padma Vibhushan, Majorana Prize, Bose Medal, Padma Bhushan, and the C. V. Raman Award.

He was nominated for the Nobel Prize multiple times.

He made significant contributions to coherent states, the optical equivalence theorem, the Glauber–Sudarshan representation, the GKSL equation, V–A theory of weak interactions, tachyon theory, the Quantum Zeno effect, and open quantum systems.
