English Language Day

English Language Day is observed annually on 23rd april.

Established in 2010 by the UN’s Department of Global Communications, English-Language-Day is one of six UN language days, each celebrating a UN official language (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian, Spanish). April 23 was chosen to honor William Shakespeare, whose birth and death are traditionally marked on this date.
