Friendship Day (India)
Friendship Day is observed annually on the first Sunday of August in several countries, including the India.
It was proclaimed by the Woodrow Wilson in 1935, when the United States Congress designated the first Sunday of August as National Friendship Day.
The day celebrates friendship and recognizes the importance of friends in fostering trust, kindness, compassion, and mutual understanding.
It encourages people to express appreciation for their friends through greetings, gifts, social gatherings, and acts of kindness.
International Day of Friendship is the official international observance. It was proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly in 2011 and is observed annually on 30 July.
