G. Ram Reddy (Gaddam Ram Reddy) was an Indian political scientist, academic, educationist.

Father of Open Distance Learning in India.

Recipient of the COL–ICDE Award of Excellence and the UGC's Swami Pranavananda Award.

Founding Vice-Chancellor of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Open University, India's first open university.

Founding Vice-Chancellor of Indira Gandhi National Open University.

Served as the Vice-Chancellor of Osmania University.

Chairman of the University Grants Commission (UGC)
