Ghana Constitution Day

Ghana Constitution Day is celebrated on January 7th anually. It is to mark the day when the current Constitution of Ghana. First Constitution of Ghana was adopted shortly after the country’s independence from the United Kingdom in 1956. The constitution of the Second Republic of Ghana was adopted in 1969. It provided for a parliamentary republic and greatly reduced the president’s powers.
