Gold Flake was originally a British cigarette brand, first produced by Stephen Mitchell & Son and later by W.D. & H.O. Wills, part of Imperial Tobacco.

Imperial Tobacco Company of India Limited (now ITC Limited) was established in 1910 as the Indian subsidiary of the British tobacco business.

On 26 June 1935, Gold Flake Corporation Limited was incorporated in Kolkata, British India, as a separate legal company.

Gold Flake Corporation Limited later became a wholly owned subsidiary of ITC Limited and continues to exist as an active unlisted public company.

Today, the Gold Flake brand is owned, manufactured, and marketed by ITC Limited.
