Alexander Graham Bell made the first telephone call from a downtown Boston laboratory.

On March 7, 1876, Alexander Graham Bell was awarded U.S. Patent No. 174,465, granting him rights over his telephone device and the concept of a telephone system.

On March 10, 1876, Bell made the first successful telephone call to his assistant Thomas Watson, saying the famous words, “Mr. Watson, come here, I want to see you.”

The historic call was made from Bell’s laboratory in Boston, where Watson heard Bell’s voice clearly through the telephone receiver.

The invention of the telephone by Bell revolutionized global communication and laid the foundation for the development of modern telecommunication systems.
