India carried out airstrikes on a Jaish-e-Mohammed camp near Balakot in Pakistan

On 26 February 2019, India launched airstrikes on a Jaish-e-Mohammed camp near Balakot in Pakistan.

This operation is known as the ‘2019 Balakot airstrike’.

The target was a training facility near Balakot in Pakistan.

The strike was conducted by Indian Air Force warplanes.

It was in response to the Pulwama terror attack.

Before the airstrikes, India withdrew Pakistan’s Most Favoured Nation trade status.

India also raised customs duties on imports from Pakistan.

The operation was described as the first Indian airstrike inside Pakistan since 1971.
