International Cake Day
International Cake Day is celebrated annually on July 20.
The observance was established in 2011 by the Kingdom of Love, an international non-commercial cultural and humanitarian project. It began with participation from nine countries under the motto "I Cake You," promoting friendship, peace, kindness, cultural exchange, and mutual understanding through the universal joy of sharing cake.
International Cake Day highlights the role of cake as a symbol of celebration during birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, festivals, family gatherings, and other special occasions. It also recognizes the creativity of bakers, pastry chefs, cake artists, confectioners, home bakers, and the global baking industry, while encouraging people to share happiness through homemade and professionally crafted cakes.
The day is observed with cake baking, cake decorating, cake-cutting ceremonies, baking workshops, charity events, dessert festivals, cake tastings, tea parties, and community celebrations. Individuals, bakeries, cafés, restaurants, schools, and organizations participate by creating and sharing cakes with family, friends, neighbors, and those in need, reinforcing the values of generosity and togetherness.
International Cake Day continues to unite people across cultures by celebrating cake, baking, desserts, friendship, love, peace, creativity, hospitality, and shared celebrations, reminding everyone that even a simple slice of cake can bring people together.
