International Day for Countering Hate Speech

International Day for Countering Hate Speech is observed annually on June 18th.

This day aims to raise awareness about the dangers of hate speech and promote strategies to identify, address, and counter it, emphasizing tolerance, diversity, and respect for human rights.

Designated by the United Nations General Assembly through resolution A/RES/75/309 in 2021.
