International Day for Dialogue among Civilizations

The International Day for Dialogue among Civilizations is observed annually on June 10.

It promotes mutual respect, tolerance, and global solidarity by raising awareness of the value of diverse civilizations and encouraging dialogue to foster peace and understanding.

The observance was established by the United Nations General Assembly through a resolution proposed by China and adopted by consensus on June 7, 2024.

Co-sponsored by more than 80 countries, the resolution recognizes the achievements of all civilizations as the "collective heritage of humankind" and emphasizes dialogue as a means to eliminate discrimination, prejudice, and mistrust while strengthening international cooperation.
