International Emergency Medicine Day is observed annually on May 27.

It is to highlight the vital work of emergency medicine professionals—doctors, nurses, paramedics, and others—who save lives in critical situations. Started by the European Society for Emergency Medicine (EUSEM), it promotes better emergency care systems worldwide.
