International Shia Day
International Shia Day is observed anually on June 12th.
The day aims to raise awareness about the struggles, rights, and achievements of Shia Muslims, who constitute half of the world’s Muslim population.
It was established in 2015 to commemorate the massacre at Camp Speicher in 2014, where Shia soldiers were targeted.
