International Sloth Day

International Sloth Day also known as World Sloth Day or just Sloth Day is observed annually on October 20th.

It’s a day dedicated to celebrating sloths, raising awareness about their conservation, and highlighting the threats they face in the wild, such as habitat loss, deforestation, and the illegal pet trade.

Sloths are known for their slow movement, unique behavior, and the important role they play in their ecosystems, like maintaining rainforest health.

Established in 2010 by the AIUNAU Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to wildlife preservation in Colombia.
