International SMS Awareness Day

International SMS Awareness Dayns day is observed anually on November 17th.

Launched in the early 2010s by PRISMS in collaboration with global partners such as the Smith-Magenis Syndrome Foundation UK and the SMS Research Foundation

It focuses on raising awareness for Smith-Magenis Syndrome (SMS), a rare genetic disorder.

The day aims to educate the public about the syndrome, which is most often caused by a deletion on chromosome 17.
