International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day

International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day is observed on the Saturday before American Thanksgiving each year.

It is a day dedicated to supporting people who have lost a loved one to suicide, aiming to break silence and stigma while offering comfort and reminding survivors they are not alone.

It was founded and has been continually led by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP).

The first Survivor Day was held in 1999.
