Dr. B.R. Ambedkar introduced the Indian Trade Unions (Amendment) Bill.

On 8 November 1943, B. R. Ambedkar brought the Indian Trade Unions (Amendment) Bill, 1943 for compulsory recognition of trade unions.

He did so in his capacity as Labour Member of the Viceroy’s Executive Council.

The bill aimed to ensure compulsory recognition of trade unions and strengthen workers’ rights.
