⭐,Dalit Veerangana,
Jhalkari Bai
Jhalkari Bai an Indian freedom fightress, soldieress.
She played a critical role in the Indian Rebellion of 1857 as a key advisor and commander in the army of Rani Lakshmibai.
When British forces besieged Jhansi, Jhalkaribai disguised herself as Rani Lakshmibai and entered the enemy camp.
This bold deception misled the British and gave the real queen time to escape and continue the resistance.
She born in dalit (Kori) family near Jhansi.
Despite humble origins, she displayed extraordinary courage and skill in horse riding, shooting, and warfare.
Jhalkari Bai is frequently referred to as an “unsung hero” whose bravery against British colonial rule remains a central part of the folk traditions of the Bundelkhand region.
her death anniversary is celebrated as Shahid Diwas (Martyr Day) by various Koli/Kori organizations.
Government of India has issued a postal stamp in her honor.
