Kaka Baptista

Kaka Bapista (Joseph Baptista) an Indian freedom fighter, politician, lawyer, social activist. Co-founder of ‘The All India Trade Union Congress’. First president of Indian Home Rule League. Mayor of Bombay. Baptista played an important role in popularising the Ganeshotsav festival ‘Sarvajanik Ganpati’. He credited for coining the phrase ’Swaraj is my birth’, which was later popularised by Tilak.
