Jyotiba Phule (Jyotirao Govindrao Phule) an Indian social activist, businessman, thinker, social reformer, writer.
Founder of The Satyashodhak Samaj. One of the first prominent figures in India to use and popularize the term “Dalit” in the context of social reform. He worked for the abolition of untouchability, the abolition of the caste system, and the education of women and people from the lower castes. His wife Savitribai Phule was India’s first woman teacher.
