Kandukuri Veeresalingam an indian social reformer, writer, teacher. He got the titles ‘Raja Ram Mohan Roy of Andhra’, ‘Gadya Tikkana’. Father of the ‘Telugu Renaissance movement’. First novel writer in telugu. He encouraged the education of women and remarriage of widows. Fought against child marriage and the dowry system. His novel Rajasekhara Charitramu is considered to be the first novel in Telugu literature.
