Kashmir Martyrs' Day - Pakistan

Kashmir Martyrs' Day is observed annually on 13 July in Pakistan.

The observance commemorates the 22 people killed outside Srinagar Central Jail on 13 July 1931 during protests against the Dogra administration.

For decades, it was observed as an official public holiday in the former State of Jammu and Kashmir.

Following the 2019 reorganization of Jammu and Kashmir, the day was removed from the official holiday calendar of the Union Territory.

The day continues to be commemorated by some political parties and organizations in Jammu and Kashmir, while it is officially observed in Pakistan and Pakistan-administered Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

India officially refers to the region as Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK) or Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
