International KBG Syndrome Awareness Day

KBG Syndrome Awareness Day, also known as International KBG Syndrome Awareness Day, is observed annually on 11 June.

It is dedicated to increasing understanding of KBG Syndrome, a rare genetic disorder caused primarily by mutations in the ANKRD11 gene.

The day promotes early diagnosis, research, and improved care for affected individuals and their families.

KBG Syndrome is present from birth and is most often diagnosed during infancy or childhood, although some individuals may remain undiagnosed until adolescence or adulthood.

Spearheaded by the KBG Foundation, the observance brings together patients, healthcare professionals, researchers, and advocates to highlight the challenges associated with the condition and advance support and scientific progress.
