Mahatma Gandhi was arrested in South Africa for leading a workers’ march.

On 6 November 1913, Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was arrested by the South African authorities for leading a workers’ march.

The march was part of the Satyagraha campaigns against discriminatory laws on labor, taxes, and passes targeting Indian immigrants.

Gandhi and other leaders were imprisoned for organizing nonviolent resistance during the Transvaal and Natal marches.
