National Library Day – India

National Library Day in India is observed on November 14th each year.

It is marking the beginning of National Library Week, which runs from November 14 to 20.

This tradition started by the Indian Library Association (ILA) in 1968.

The week honors Dr. S. R. Ranganathan, the ‘Father of Library Science in India’, and includes events to promote reading and the importance of libraries.
