National Library Week – India

National Library Week in India is observed from November 14 to 20 each year.

This tradition started by the Indian Library Association (ILA) in 1968.

The week honors Dr. S. R. Ranganathan, the ‘Father of Library Science in India’, and includes events to promote reading and the importance of libraries.

The date November 14 is also observed as National Library Day.
