Rani Shiromani of Karnagar (Bengal) declared war against British.

“The British started collecting heavy taxes from farmers across the country where they established their suzerainty. This resulted in poverty of many farmers. Lands of farmers who couldn’t pay due to poor yields were confiscated by the British.  She gathered her forces, especially farmers, to attack the British army. The Rani was taken prisoner. Later The British executed her while she was under house-arrest.”
