The Salar Jung Museum was opened to the public in Hyderabad, India.

On 16 December 1951, the Museum was opened to the public in Hyderabad, India, inaugurated by then Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru.

The museum, located on the southern bank of the River Musi in Telangana, holds one of the world’s largest collections amassed by a single individual.

The Salar Jung family curated this collection, which includes rare art objects, antiques, and artifacts from across the globe.
