Statehood Day

Statehood Day is observed annually in Lithuania on 6 July.

It commemorates the coronation of King Mindaugas in 1253, marking the establishment and international recognition of the Lithuanian state. The day has been officially observed as a public holiday since 1991.

The day celebrates Lithuania's history, national identity, sovereignty, and unity.

It is marked through official ceremonies, cultural events, concerts, flag-raising ceremonies, and the worldwide singing of the Lithuanian National Anthem at 9:00 PM local time.
