Subhash Mukherjee (Subhash Mukhopadhyay) an Indian scientist, professor, physician.

Pioneer of IVF in India.

He created India’s first and the world’s second baby using in-vitro fertilization (IVF).

For this achievement, instead of recognition, he faced social ostracism and humiliation from both the then West Bengal state government and the Government of India.

He was not allowed to share his work with the international scientific community.

Overwhelmed by despair, he committed suicide.
