Suriname Revolution Day
Suriname Revolution Day is celebrated on February 25th annually. It commemorates the military coup that took place on that date in 1980, led by Sergeant-Major Dési Bouterse; it is sometimes referred to as the “Day of Liberation and Innovation”.
