Tanjore Balasaraswati an Indian classical dancer, musician.

Sangeet Natak Akademi Fellowship recipient. She came from a famous devadasi family, rich in music and dance tradition. She upheld the traditional, spiritual, and emotional depth of Bharatanatyam at a time when others were modifying it. She performed and taught internationally, helping spread Indian classical dance across the world.
