The Gentlemen’s Agreement was made to merge Andhra State with the Telangana region of Hyderabad State and form Andhra Pradesh.

On 20 February 1956, Agreement was signed to merge Andhra State with the Telangana region of Hyderabad State and form Andhra Pradesh.

The agreement was signed in New Delhi.

For Telangana, the signatories were Burgula Ramakrishna Rao and K. V. Rangareddy.

For Andhra, the signatories were Neelam Sanjiva Reddy, Bezawada Gopala Reddy, Alluri Sathyamurthy, and Gouthu Latchanna.
