Vijaydan Detha an Indian writer. Sahitya Akademi fellowship recipient. ‘Rajasthan Ratna’, ‘Sahitya Chudamani’, ‘Sahitya Akademi awards recipient. Noted indian writer of Rajasthani literature. He portrayed the sufferings of the poor in his writings and was also tipped for the Nobel Prize Nominy.for Literature in 2011 which ultimately went to Tomas Tranströmer.
