Vineeth

Vineeth (Vineeth Radhakrishnan) – an Indian actor, classical dancer, voice artist and choreographer.

Known predominantly for his work in Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu cinema.

A trained Bharatanatyam dancer, he won the Kalaprathibha title at the Kerala School Kalolsavam in 1986.

Recipient of Kerala State Film Awards and the Kalaimamani honour of the Government of Tamil Nadu.

Vineeth Radhakrishnan, popularly known as Vineeth, is an Indian actor, classical dancer, voice artist and choreographer known for his work across South Indian cinema. He has worked predominantly in Malayalam and Tamil films, while also appearing in Telugu, Kannada and Hindi cinema.

Early Life and Bharatanatyam Training

Vineeth was born on August 23, 1969, in Thalassery, Kerala. His interest in classical dance developed at an early age. Encouraged by actress Padmini, a close family relative, he began receiving formal training in Bharatanatyam as a child.

Dance became an important part of Vineeth's artistic identity. During his school years, he won first prize in Bharatanatyam at the Kerala state school youth festival for four consecutive years. In 1986, he received the prestigious Kalaprathibha title for his performances at the festival.

Film Career

Vineeth entered Malayalam cinema during the 1980s. His early film career included Idanilangal, directed by I. V. Sasi, while his performance in Hariharan's Nakhakshathangal (1986) helped bring him wider recognition.

He subsequently established a career spanning several Indian film industries. Vineeth became particularly known for Malayalam and Tamil cinema and also performed in Telugu, Kannada and Hindi films. His training as a classical dancer became a distinctive element of several of his screen performances.

Among the films associated with his career are Sargam, Kamaladalam, Parinayam, Kaalapani, Daud, Priyamaana Thozhi, Chandramukhi, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, and Kambhoji.

Vineeth as a Classical Dancer

Alongside acting, Vineeth has maintained a significant career as a Bharatanatyam dancer. His association with classical dance began in childhood and continued alongside his film career. He has performed dance programmes in India and abroad and has consistently described dance as a central part of his artistic life.

Voice Acting and Choreography

Vineeth has also established himself as a voice artist and choreographer. He won the Kerala State Film Award for Best Choreography for Kambhoji and later received the Kerala State Film Award for Best Dubbing Artist for providing voices for prominent characters in Malayalam films.

His dubbing work includes providing the Malayalam voice for Vivek Oberoi in Lucifer and Arjun Sarja in Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham.
