World Kidney Day

World Kidney Day (WKD) is observed annually on the second Thursday of March.

It is a global awareness campaign established in 2006 as a joint initiative of the International Society of Nephrology (ISN) and the International Federation of Kidney Foundations (IFKF – World Kidney Alliance).

WKD aims to raise awareness about kidney health, including prevention, early detection, and management of kidney disease.

Kidney disease affects hundreds of millions of people worldwide and represents a significant public health challenge.
