World Lewis Day

World Lewis Day is observed every year on November 26th.

It is to honor Lewis, a koala who became a symbol of Australia’s devastating 2019–2020 bushfires.

Established in 2020 by the Port Macquarie Koala Hospital, his rescuer Toni Doherty, and other wildlife organizations, the day raises awareness and funds for koala conservation.

It is marked by social media campaigns using the hashtag #WorldLewisDay, donations, and efforts to support koala rescue and habitat protection.
